One of the most useful tools I’ve ever come across is LogMeIn.com. Once you install the software on the client, you can remotely access that computer to solve window’s related problems. I say window’s related problems because it runs as a window’s service on the client machine. If the problem is a boot up problem, then this software will not help. I routinely save travel time as I now don’t need to drive to the client to find out what the problem is. I simply start up logmein.com, remotely bring up the client’s computer and control the client’s desktop as if I had the computer right in front of me. I’ve used it to setup outlook pop accounts, fix driver problems, and disable those pesky browser virus add-ons. They have both a free version and a pay version. The pay version offering the ability to view things like a dashboard of computer health information and the ability to copy/move files between your computer and the client machine. The free version offers remote control access and that is what i use it for.
